Mitch Carmody, GSP, CCP is a writer, artist and a nationally recognized authority on the bereavement process. He is the author of several books, and hosts his own Radio Show “Grief Chat”. Mitch is a Grief Facilitator for the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (T.A.P.S) of military loss, member of A.D.E.C. (Association for Death Education & Counseling) and has served on the National Board of Directors for The Compassionate Friends.
Mitch is the visionary of the Proactive Grieving®model of grief processing. His approach is organic, compassionate and compelling. Mitch has been working with bereaved families and bereavement organizations for over 25 years and is his passion. After losing his twin sister and her two sons in an auto accident in 1985 and then his only son to cancer in 1987 Mitch has dedicated his life to serving the bereaved in any way he can. Linda Findlay is the Founder & CEO of Mourning Discoveries Grief Support Services. She has established her company as one of the leading providers of Funeral Service Aftercare in the US.. In a style reflecting compassion, personal loss, and with over 24 years of experience, Linda effectively communicates with bereaved families. Through the sharing of personal stories and professional experiences with both integrity and credibility. Linda is a bereaved parent. She lost her infant daughter in 1989. Her daughters legacy is her life work.. She is a published author and a nationally recognized Aftercare Service Provider for 300 funeral homes in 25 states. She is an Outreach Bereavement Educator, Support Group Facilitator, Hospice Bereavement Services Volunteer and AARP Widows Person Service Grief Support Trainer. She has served on many panels, hosted workshops, training’s, seminars and memorial & holiday programs across the country since 1994. She served on the board for a local chapter of a SHARE Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support organization, is a past member of ADEC, (Association for Death Education & Counseling) Syracuse NY Chapter. She has published articles in many funeral service publications in addition to authoring the widely used series of grief support books titled, “The Family Care Series” Helping Families Navigate Through Grief Towards Healing. Since 2008, over 400,000 books have been provided to families across the country. Linda recently acquired a Cruise Planners American Express franchised independently owned and operated travel agency. Combining her life’s work of supporting grieving families and her love for travel, she has created the Pro-Active Grieving Seminars at Sea Program. The first “Bereavement Cruises” has been scheduled and is set to sail in September of 2016 .
